Who is a coach?
Coach in English means a trainer who motivates you to achieve the goals you have set or helps you to establish goals and gives you the tools to achieve them. Very popular is a coach of football team, who motivates the team and leads them to win. The Coach is your partner motivating you to become the person you want to be and have the life you desire both personally and professionally.
A coach is like personal, professional partner who helps you to identify problems or challenges and set goals as well as encourage you to take action to achieve better results. A coach helps the client to find their own solutions in the process of changes on the path of personal and professional development.
What is coaching?
Professional coaching is an effective and simple form of personal development.
Coaching is co-operation between Coach and the Client - individual or a company to achieve results which the Client wants in business and in private life, achieving previously established goals.
How is coaching distinct from other service professions? ( source ICF USA) Words used: Coaching - (see above) , Coaching Relationship - The professional relationship between a coach and the client.
" Therapy-Coaching can be distinguished from therapy in a number of ways. First, coaching is a profession that supports personal and professional growth and development based on individual-initiated change in pursuit of specific actionable outcomes. These outcomes are linked to personal or professional success. Coaching is forward moving and future focused. Therapy, on the other hand, deals with healing pain, dysfunction and conflict within an individual or a relationship between two or more individuals. The focus is often on resolving difficulties arising from the past which hamper an individual's emotional functioning in the present, improving overall psychological functioning, and dealing with present life
and work circumstances in more emotionally healthy ways. Therapy outcomes often include improved emotional/feeling states. While positive feelings/emotions may be a natural outcome of coaching, the primary focus is on creating actionable strategies for achieving specific goals in one's work or personal life. The emphasis in a coaching relationship is on action, accountability and follow through.
Consulting-Consultants may be retained by individuals or organizations for the purpose of accessing specialized expertise. While consulting approaches vary widely, there is often an assumption that the consultant diagnoses problems and prescribes and sometimes implements solutions. In general, the assumption with coaching is that individuals or teams are capable of generating their own solutions, with the coach supplying supportive, discovery-based approaches and frameworks.
Mentoring-Mentoring, which can be thought of as guiding from one's own experience or sharing of experience in a specific area of industry or career development, is sometimes confused with coaching. Although some coaches provide mentoring as part of their coaching, such as in mentor coaching new coaches, coaches are not typically mentors to those they coach.
Training-Training programs are based on the acquisition of certain learning objectives as set out by the trainer or instructor. Though objectives are clarified in the coaching process, they are set by the individual or team being coached with guidance provided by the coach. Training also assumes a linear learning path which coincides with an established curriculum. Coaching is less linear without a set curriculum plan." (ICF source)
How long does the coaching take?
Coaching generally lasts 3-6 months, sometimes even longer, depending on individual circumstances, and how many short and long term goals we are working towards. Generally each session lasts 60 minutes, 2-4 times a month. The coaching can be done in person or on the phone or through Group coaching which includes training and workshops.
Coaching on the phone and in person both have the same success rate.
What is business coaching?
Business Coaching is a co-operation between a coach and business owner towards fulfilling business goals set by you as the owner of your business with the help of your coach. Including personal coaching to the process of business coaching has the positive impact on the results and dynamics of the growth of your company
What is group coaching?
Group coaching in working out the same problem by a group of several or about a dozen people under the supervision of a coach. This type of coaching is applied to work with people with similar needs, e.g. those who have strained relations in the work environment, problems with communication, creativity, originality or difficulties in solving problems. Group coaching may be applied within one company, organization or used as open exercises, during which the common topic may focus on, e.g. change of career or work; developing your own business; or relations with your life partner.
Examples: coaching workshops for companies or open workshops for individuals.
What are the criteria of choosing the right coach for you?
1. How many real, paying hours has the coach done? (not consultations, not therapy, not consulting, not as a trainer)
2. How many clients has the coach had and how long did he stay with them?
3. What sort of qualifications does the coach have?
Coaching in Poland is relatively new, only real kicking off in the last few years. It is best to get a coach who trained overseas.
4. Does the coach follow the code of ethics?
5. See the references and opinions of other clients from this coach. This can generally be found on their website.
6. Does he put all of his energy into his clients or does he have other work? What is his main job?
7. Has the coach gone through or is going through their own coaching process?
8. Also, if you need more information after meeting with a coach, ask if there is a possibility of talking with a former client.
9. Do they have a certificate? They are welcome, but not required jet in Poland, look at Point 1, 2 3.
Your coach should be an expert in coaching, and not in your business.

What does it mean set goals?
Setting goals is the ability to make decision on a given subject concerning what you want to have, do or become in your life. This may concern small goals like going to the cinema, buying your favorite shoes, or a vacation as well as larger goals such as a new job, buying a new car, house, or establishing your own company. We can also decide who we want to become: entrepreneur, lawyer, doctor or another specialist in a chosen field. Defining your goal in the right way will make it easier to focus your action and achieve goals once you know what you want.
It is very important to specify the goal according to certain rules in a way that is achievable and supported by your conscious and subconscious mind.
What does it mean contact your inner wisdom?
Every person makes decisions each day based on a logical understanding and subjective opinion of the situation. Whether it concerns food, vacation or work, most of us follow logical thinking first, then intuition. Contact with inner wisdom means utilizing intuition in the process of making decisions and choices, which we make very step in our life. Including intuition in the process of making decisions facilitates making the right life choices. This aspect of ourselves- our intuition - sees more and knows more than our eyes can see consciously. Following intuition while making decisions allows us to avoid unexpected surprises and save time in doing things, which do not bring results. Most importantly, it allows us to focus all our energy on what is most beneficial for us!
What is wellness?
Wellness is not only a style of healthy living, eating, exercising, encouraging the Client to look after great health and physical body. Wellness it is also mental health, giving your brain mental food and nourishment, positive thinking, programming and action, which results in healthy Mind, Soul and in effect also healthy Body.
